Track (Live) your flight online

09 Jan

This edition of techblog is about services that allows you to track ‘live flight information’ – just like the one which you see on your screen when you are on board. Casper is such type of a service that allows you to track almost all flights flying across European countries (especially those from /to the Amsterdam Airport). The service uses Google map API for displaying this information. The developers have assigned different colours to different flights based on name of the airline.

The services allows you to customise the display and you can change the colour of these airplane classification model to your preferred ones. You can also group (give colour) based on the level of altitude at which they are flying.

The website shows all incoming flights, outgoing flights with respect to an air-port and those which are in transit. You can group the flights based on this information as well.

If you click on the icon of a particular airplane you can view the speed at which it is travelling and the altitude at which it is flying . The developers claim that they are able to provide the inform in real-time.

The service also helps the users to replay an entire ‘airplane journey’ which had taken place few days back.
