Wine is a tool that most of the people ,who are migrating from an M$ Windows system , installs in their Linux system. And many of such people complain about the lack of powerful games in Linux Platform. Unfortunatly Wine doesn’t support most of the high end graphics games.
This edition of Techblog is about a tool for such people. PlayOnLinux – This tool has a better GUI that is upto the anticipation / expectation of the migrating users. The screenshot shown below shows the software in action.

You can see that, one will be able to download and install packages (solutions) for windows platform, in Linux system very easily. And fortunatly, now this software is available in the Ubuntu repository. So, just use your synaptic package manager to find this and install it directly.
Once you launch the application, you can see that the packages are arranged properly. This will enable you to download and install the package you need.

Sometimes, you may have problem with regard to the Autorun utility of the CD/DVD ROMs. Here also you can use your PlayonLinux for the work. After inserting such type of a ROM, you can use the autorun to run the contents.

Back to our problem – what about Games? Yes, PlayonLinux supports high graphics games. Here is an example. The SIMS 3 is a very popular PC game. PlayonLinux allows you to install that game in your PC. Here are few screen shots
